Please be advised that registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, Second Series began in July 2023. This information is being communicated to prospective candidates at this time.
Two series of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates are administered each year by the West African Examination Council (WAEC). The First Series of the WASSCE for Private Candidates is administered in the months of January and February, while the Second Series is administered in the months of October and November.
Candidates should also take note that the registration process for the 2023 WAEC GCE has been designed to accommodate biometric features that will be used for validation at the examination centres. This information will be communicated to candidates during the registration process.
The time period for WAEC GCE registration.
The offer will be valid until midnight on Friday, January 20, 2023.
Only thirty thousand, five hundred Naira (N30,500.00) will be required from each candidate for walk-in registration. The registration process must be completed no later than twenty-four hours before the time that the intended exam or exams are scheduled to begin.

How to Submit Your Application for the 2023 WAEC GCE
Candidates are required to pay a registration fee of Eighteen Thousand Naira (N18,000), which can be done at any branch of any of the following banks or any accredited agent, and then obtain a Registration PIN and an Information VCD:

Additionally, candidates will be required to pay a commission of Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) to the banks or accredited agents who are processing their applications.
Candidates must register online at Waec.org after first obtaining the Registration PIN in order to complete the registration process.
NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (NIN):
In order to participate in the Registration process, each candidate should be in possession of a National Identification Number.
APPLICANTS WHO HAVE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates who have special needs will also register online like other candidates, but they will be required to provide specific details about their impairments, such as visual, low vision, spastic, speech, or hard to hear, amongst others.
COMPLETION OF REGISTRATION:
Candidates HAVE TO finish registering on the website within two weeks of their very first access to the site during the registration period. They are responsible for ensuring that their names, genders, passport photographs, birth dates, and subjects are accurate.
In addition to this, they are required to print the Admission Notice, which serves as evidence of a successful registration and can be used as identification during the examination. In addition to that, the PIN for the Result Checker will be printed on the Admission Notice. The UareU digitalPersona fingerprint device is the only scanner that will do for an acceptable fingerprint.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Before submitting their registration for the test, candidates are required to watch the informational VCD.
Candidates are cautioned to take note that there will be no refunds on the registration fee.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to keep checking the website for updates regarding the examination schedule.
All submissions are required to be accompanied by digitally captured photographs that resemble passports. The Microsoft HD 3000 standard ought to be included in the digital camera’s list of requirements. The photographs for the passport need to be of high quality, either in black and white or color (JPEG file only, 275 by 314 pixels with 72 dbi resolution), and they need to have a background that contrasts with the subject. There should be nothing that could get in the way.
Please be aware that if a candidate submits a photograph that is either defaced or of poor quality, that candidate’s entry will automatically be disqualified. Please go to www.waecnigeria.org for any additional information.
Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the examination’s Regulations and Syllabi, both of which are available for download from the WAEC website (www.waeconline.org.ng) by entering the Registration PIN.
Candidates are required to enter examination halls dressed in mufti and without carrying any weapons. Inside the exam rooms, you are not permitted to wear any kind of professional attire of any kind.
Candidates who take the exam in more than one location will have their results nullified across the board.
In the examination room, smoking is not permitted at any time.
If a candidate walks into the testing room carrying a mobile phone and/or any other electronic gadget(s), the entirety of that candidate’s results will be voided.
Candidates have the responsibility of ensuring that their entries have been correctly completed before they can upload them, as the Council will not be responsible for any mistakes that are made in candidates’ particulars. Any information that a candidate voluntarily provides to the registrar at the time of registration will NOT have any requests for amendments considered or entertained.
In order to enter the examination room, candidates are required to bring in their original Admission Notice.
Candidates who are found to have engaged in exam malpractice will not only have their results nullified, but they also run the risk of being prosecuted.
During the registration process, candidates are responsible for ensuring that they provide a valid email address and telephone number(s). Candidates must also be prepared to comply with all COVID-19 regulations.
