The American Association of University Women (AAUW)

This fellowship like the name suggests is for international women who are in the science and technology field. Last year they gave out 250 grants and awards to Graduate and Post-Graduates. They take care of your tuition fee, your cost of living for you and your dependent child if you have any.

Women have been poorly represented in top organizations or industry, Government, finance field and the scientific or technological field. For this reason, industries, government, and private organizations and even schools have set up scholarships for women who have great academic records, and show good leadership qualities.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) offers International women with a very good academic record an opportunity to study in the United States. Candidates who are eventual winners of this prestigious award will receive the sum of $18,000 for Master’s programs, $20,000 for Doctoral, and $30,000 for Postdoctoral programs.

Initially, the program was introduced to help Latin American Women a chance to further their graduate and post-graduate studies. Over 3,600 women from more than 150 countries have been given this award

Eligibility Requirements

• You must have completed your bachelor’s degree or undergraduate studies that are equivalent to the U.S. bachelor’s degree before you can apply. This means if your country offers a course whose duration is for three years and the same course has a four years’ duration in the U.S. you may be required to complete your master’s in your country then apply for the Ph.D. program.
• Apply to the intended institution in the U.S. at the time of application.
• Applicants are selected based on academic performances and achievements.
• Applicants must show leadership quality to thrive in the home country, this would guarantee you will return to your country after the program.
• English language proficiency is very vital and proof to show that is usually required.

The deadline for this application is on the 1^st of December each year and Applications for AAUW International Fellowships are open August 1 November 15.
