The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) conducts the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates, also known as WAEC GCE, twice a year. If you have recently taken the WAEC GCE exam and are eagerly awaiting your results, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to check your WAEC GCE exam result for this year.
How to Check Your WAEC GCE Exam Result
Step 1: Visit the WAEC GCE Result Checking Portal
Open your preferred web browser and go to the official WAEC GCE result checking portal at https://www.waecdirect.org/. This is the official website for checking WAEC results and is the only authorized portal for checking WAEC GCE results.
Step 2: Select Your Examination Year
On the WAEC GCE result checking portal, you will find a drop-down menu to select the examination year. Choose the correct year for the WAEC GCE exam you have taken. For example, if you took the exam in 2023, select “2023” from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Select Your Examination Type
In the next drop-down menu, you will be asked to select your examination type. Choose “Private Candidate Result” as your examination type since you are checking your WAEC GCE result.
Step 4: Enter Your Examination Details
Now, you need to provide your examination details. Enter your 10-digit WAEC GCE examination number in the space provided. Make sure to enter the correct examination number to avoid any errors. Also, enter the examination center number, which is a 4-digit number, and the 3-digit examination center code in the respective spaces.
Step 5: Enter Your Personal Information
After entering your examination details, you need to provide some personal information. Enter your full name in the space provided, as it appears on your WAEC GCE registration. Also, select your date of birth from the drop-down menus for day, month, and year.
Step 6: Submit Your Information and View Your Result
Once you have entered all the required information, double-check for accuracy. Make sure all the details are correct before you click on the “Submit” button. Your WAEC GCE result for this year will then be displayed on the screen. You can view and print your result for reference purposes.
Step 7: Print Your Result
If you wish to have a hard copy of your WAEC GCE result, you can click on the “Print” button to print your result. It is recommended that you keep a printed copy of your result for future reference.
Step 8: Collect Your Original Result Slip
The printed result obtained from the WAEC GCE result checking portal is not considered an official result. To obtain the original result slip, you need to visit the WAEC office in your country or examination center. The original result slip will bear the official stamp and signature of the WAEC authorities and is a valid document for official use.
Note: The WAEC GCE result checking portal may experience high traffic during result release periods, which may cause delays or technical issues. In such cases, it is advisable to be patient and try again later.
