Donald A. Wehrung International Students Scholarship Award At UBC Canada

This is one of the oldest scholarships at the University of British Columbia for the international undergraduates who are poor or from developing countries. International students with a passion for schooling and have an outstanding academic performance stand a chance of winning the scholarship and all its benefits.

The scholarship is only available to international undergraduates who lack the means to pursue an undergraduate education. These students are giving the opportunity to study upon proving that they have no other means of taking care of their studies and showing outstanding academic performance.

A Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award is renewable. You will be able to renew for an additional three years for undergraduate study or degree completion. This is subject to satisfactory academic performance in their faculty, continues to demonstrate financial need, and maintains their Canadian Study Permit (visa).

The two campuses of the UBC participating for this scholarship is the one at Vancouver and Okanagan campus in Canada. The scholarship covers your full tuition fee and living expenses.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must not be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
• From a disturbed country either through war or unstable political government.
• Unable to pursue further education in their home country because they lack the financial means and support, or it is not available in your home country.
• A graduate from a secondary school or high school and pursuing an undergraduate study.
• Able to demonstrate superior academic achievement (at least an ‘A’ average or equivalent standard) and leadership potential.
• The scholarship program only accepts students that are nominated either by the secondary school they are graduating from, a community, or non-governmental organization.

Secondary schools and recognized international, community-based, and non-governmental organizations may nominate candidates using the Nomination form for Donald A. Wehrung awards.

 The scholarship is open every year and has been that way since 2014, but expires December of every year. Applicants are advised to apply early enough to say from January.
