Commonwealth Scholarship at the National University of Singapore (NUS)


Brief Description: All international students from Commonwealth countries is invited to apply for the Commonwealth scholarship hosted by the National University of Singapore. International students applying for a Master’s or Ph.D. program at the university are welcome to apply for this scholarship. The applicant must be a new student who has just received an offer of admission to study a Master’s or Ph.D. course at the university.

Level/Field of Study: Full-time Masters and Ph.D. degrees by research, in any field.

Scholarship Value: The scholarship will cover the candidate’s tuition fees, a monthly stipend of S$2000 for Ph.D. candidates, and S$1500 for Masters candidates. Applicants for the Ph.D. program may be eligible for an additional stipend of up to S$500 per month upon passing the Ph.D. Qualifying Examination (QE), which is normally held 12 to 18 months after registration of candidature.

Only applicants from the selected Commonwealth countries excluding Singapore are eligible to apply.

Students must obtain a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of second-class honors (Upper Credit) or its equivalent.

Applicants are required to first receive an offer of admission for a Master’s or Ph.D. program at the University of Singapore before applying.

All subjects will be thought in the English Language, this is why candidates must present proof of English language proficiency.

Application deadline: The scholarship occurs every year. The application deadline for August 2021 entry is 1 November 2020.
